On the final “Saturday Night Live” episode before the pivotal election, Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance, sharing the stage with her adored impersonator, Maya Rudolph.
During the opening segment, Rudolph sat in front of a mirror, looking at her “reflection,” which was Harris. The two humorously recalled their shared experiences as “a Black, South Asian woman running for president” and quipped, “You and me both, sister,” to raucous applause from the audience. Harris then took a jab at Donald Trump, declaring, “I’m just here to remind you, you got this. Because you can do something your opponent cannot do. You can open doors.”
In a playful exchange, Rudolph mimicked Harris’ laugh, to which Harris questioned, “I don’t really laugh like that, do I?” After a lighthearted back-and-forth, the duo engaged in a playful series of rhymes, with Rudolph asserting, “The American people want to stop the chaos,” and Harris adding, “And end the drama-la.”
Despite the fun banter, the Trump campaign’s response was sharp. Spokesman Steven Cheung stated, “Kamala Harris has nothing substantive to offer.” At the same time, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr criticized the skit as a “clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC’s Equal Time rule.”
This is a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC’s Equal Time rule.
The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct – a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate on the eve of an election.… https://t.co/LliZF0po9t

Harris concluded the segment with a humorous exchange about voting, reinforcing her engagement with the electoral process before signing off with, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday night!” Some believed Harris was pandering, while others applauded her performance with Rudolph, who has long been praised for her impersonation of Harris.

Kamala was SO good on SNL!!!!! Hard to describe it, but she had that buzz that makes you smile. She’s worked her whole life for this moment. Two more days of hard work until we make her our President-elect.
