Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker are facing a serious lawsuit from the landlord of her Blaze Steak & Seafood restaurant.
The landlord, Montego Pacific Inc., claims the restaurant owes $154,139.17 in back rent. In a lawsuit filed Monday in Fulton County State Court, Montego also asserts that Burruss’ restaurant owes an additional “$56,495.75 for repairs to the Premises and the 10% overhead fee, exclusive of interest.”
Montego alleges Burruss is in breach of her lease agreement and must pay an extra $12,083.50 per month in interest until the overdue rent is settled.
Burruss, a longtime cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” opened Blaze Steak & Seafood in southwest Atlanta in 2020 with Tucker. The couple also owns Old Lady Gang, a soul food restaurant that launched in Castleberry Hill in 2017.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Blaze Steak & Seafood received an impressive health score of 93 in late 2023, based on Georgia Department of Public Health records.
Neither Burruss nor her legal team have responded publicly to the lawsuit. According to the complaint, Montego has given Burruss and the restaurant 10 days to pay the outstanding balance to avoid further legal consequences.
