Last week, fans got a chance to get an early listen to Kanye West‘s highly-anticipated album, ‘Donda,’ at a listening party in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The event was also streamed live exclusively on Apple Music. And in true Kanye fashion, the stream did numbers! Sources told TMZ that Kanye broke the Apple Music Global Livestream record, with 3.3 million viewers tuning in to preview ‘Donda.’
Sources also say Yeezy nearly doubled the numbers set by previous record-holders Gucci Mane and Jeezy, whose Verzuz battle brought in 1.8 million viewers on the platform last year.
Fans who didn’t have the luxury of attending the listening event nor tuning into the stream had hoped the album would’ve dropped following the event at midnight. However, reports say Kanye pushed the album back to August 6. Justin Laboy, who has been interestingly giving fans updates on Kanye’s latest project, noted that the rapper pushed it back to deliver fans “the best possible product.” Kanye is also said to have moved into Mercedes-Benz Stadium to finish up the album.
