It’s been a wild ride for Kanye West these last few years, and in spite of it all, he’s on track to earn $1.5 billion in profits from his Yeezy clothing line by the end of the year. The rapper, producer, songwriter turned fashion designer is expected to add billionaire to his list of titles. While the Yeezy brand is comprised of both apparel and footwear, the Yeezy sneaker line is what’s bringing in the bulk of the revenue.
In a recent interview with Forbes magazine, West makes references to his early love of sketching sneaker designs as a child. He also attributes his business success to drawing inspiration from his love for the exclusive style of Lamborghini, being “a product guy at my core” and his desire “to make products that make people feel an immense amount of joy and solve issues and problems in their life, that’s the problem-solving that I love to do.” In between making waves in the fashion industry, he’s still in the studio, working on an album tentatively titled “Yandhi.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kanye’s political affiliations, and even mental state may be questionable, but his musical and creative genius cannot be denied.
