The Kanye West and Kim Kardashian divorce is nearing its conclusion, putting to rest an over 10-year saga that played out before our eyes.
Newly filed legal documents, which were first obtained by The Blast, have revealed that both Ye and Kim have submitted the last set of paperwork required by the state of California to complete the separation. This includes a Final Declaration of Disclosure, Expense Declarations, completed Schedule of Assets and Debts, or Community or Separate Property Declarations. Filing these documents usually signal a forthcoming settlement.
“KimYe” had been an item since at least 2012. However, rumors of marital woes began to surface in 2018, around the same time Ye made his controversial “slavery was a choice” comments that would spark debate for years to come. In 2020, things seemingly hit the fan when the Yeezy mastermind ran for president. During his most bizarre campaign rally, Ye told the crowd that he and his then-wife contemplated aborting their daughter, North West. Many have speculated that this comment was the final straw for Kim, while others believe it was his bizarre alliance with former president Donald Trump. Either way, in early 2021, the beauty mogul filed for divorce.
Over the past few months, West has aired several grievances with his ex, bringing his issues to the public, mostly in regard to their children. Luckily, the two were recently spotted appearing cordial at their son Saint’s flag football game, a sign that things may finally be amicable between the two.
