Kanye West took to Twitter to complain after being mentioned in a joke during Saturday Night Live, hosted by Issa Rae.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rae played as an NAACP lawyer in a “Your Vote Chicago” speaking about political candidates, and Rae’s character stated that she is “voting for everybody Black.” A joke that referenced Rae’s comments that she was “rooting for everybody Black” at the 2017 Emmy Awards.
“For too long, our people’s voices have not been heard. It’s our duty to stand together and take our power back,” the Insecure actress said during the sketch.
However, near the end of the sketch, Rae’s character revealed the one black candidate she will not be supporting as Kenan Thompson’s anchor character went to a break, saying, “When we come back, we’ll talk about the presidential race between Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and Kanye West.” Rae’s character then immediately fired back, changing her tune and saying, “Kanye? F him!”
West responded via Twitter, posting a screenshot of a google search of Issa Rae and writing, “I’ve always said SNL uses black people to hold other black people back. My heart goes out to Issa Rae. I’m praying for her and her family.”

West also made sure to commend himself as he tweeted, “I know that the twenty years of service that I’ve paid in the entertainment field has furthered our ability to be more successful.”
No word yet on whether Issa has responded to Kanye’s response, but stay tuned.
