Kanye West is still fighting for his family, but this time it’s in court.
In new legal documents, Kanye has responded to Kim’s petition, objecting to his estranged wife’s request to get the judge to declare her single before all the custody and property issues are resolved.
According to TMZ, insiders claim that Ye’s attorneys are worried that Kim might remarry and transfer some of their marital assets to her separate accounts.
Kanye is reportedly agreeable to Kim becoming single as soon as possible, but only if he has safeguards in place, so their assets remain as marital property.
His lawyer claims he wants three conditions met; the first one is if either of them passes away, he wants to make sure any money that might be owed to either is reimbursed.
The second, Kanye wants to block Kim from transferring assets out of any trust they created together.
And lastly, Ye wants his ex to waive their marital privilege pending a final custody decision. He also wants to make sure any communications between the former couple can be part of the court record, and if Kim remarries, she would have to waive any spousal privilege between her and her new husband, which would allow Ye to use any conversations between Kim and her new husband in court.
Kim has rejected these terms as the couple already have a prenup that keeps all of their property separate.
