On Wednesday morning, Kanye West visited his hometown of Chicago to chop it up with the local team at 107.5 WGCI Morning Show.
In the interview, West clarified a few rumors attached to his name, including those concerning the infamous rap beef between Drake and Pusha T.
In July, producer Malik Yusuf, who worked closely with West during the recording of his album “Ye,” said Drake divulged the details about his son via his record, “March 14th,” to West prior to its release. In turn, according to reports, West then provided the ammo for Pusha T in the beef.
One month later, West finally addressed the rumor, as well as his relationship with the “Scorpion” rapper.
“Don’t even pull me into that type of conversation,” West said. “That’s what y’all don’t understand.”
“No I didn’t,” he said simply, of the rumor. “Don’t pull me into this conversation. I’m ‘Ye…I honestly don’t care that much, in all honesty.”
As he continued, he spoke on their relationship and his hope for the future.
“People be around your family and be in your house and this and that then, they get mad about a beat and send purple demon emojis,” West said of the current status of his relationship with Drake, referencing his “Lift Yourself” beat.
“I don’t play like that, I don’t play in that place….it’s like, look, it ain’t no beef,” he continued. “We’ll reconcile that one day because we got to.”
“We got work to do because these voices are just too powerful,” he said.
