It’s not often that Kanye West does interviews but he’s been on full campaign mode in preparation of the release of WAVES next week, so it’s only right he called in to chat with Real 92.3’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood.
In the interview Kanye reveals that although he initially wanted to name his upcoming album “So Help Me God,” then “Swish,” and now “Waves,” he’s  actually undecided on the album title and when Kim Kardashian tweeted the poll asking fans which album title they liked better, it was really for research purposes.Â
Kanye also touches on the roll out of “No More Parties In LA,” referring to Kendrick Lamar as the God MC. He says that the album was 3 years in the making and that things are finally coming together to make it happen.Â
You’ll also find that Kanye is pretty spiritual in this interview as well. Besides referring to his album as a “Gospel album with curse words,” he also refers to church, faith and a lot more. Kanye refers to himself and his music as “A God’s dream, a dream that can’t happen without God” and credits his success to God, his mom and Robert Kardashian. “I could work on this album every waking hour and I’m still only doing 1% of the work, God is doing the rest of the work. My mom had Teddy Riley change his flight and come back to the studio. Robert Kardashian is making sure that all the deals are getting done. He’s still doing deals for controversial black people from up in heaven.”Â
As far as the beef with Wiz Khalifa, Kanye says that Malik Yusef got the two on the phone and they squashed it. He also opens up about talking about Khalifa’s son. “I didn’t mean it in a harmful way. I just saw my wife’s initials and reacted because that’s my family. People think because my wife’s on TV or she’s been in an SNL skit, or whatever her history is, that’s open season or something. No, that’s the mother of my kids! I’m not going to act like I’m a tough n*gga but I’m a man at the end of the day. I’m going to hold my wife down. I’m going to hold my family down.”Â
Of course when asked about Drake’s pool being bigger than his, Kanye says “I have three pools.”
