Kanye West appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Wednesday night for an interview, addressing his recent criticism.
Ye was grilled with questions by the talk show host about his antisemitic tweets.
When discussing the tweets, Morgan asks, “Do you now regret saying ‘Death con 3’ on Jewish people?”
Kanye initially denied feeling remorse, saying, “No, absolutely not.”
Kanye West was banned from Instagram and Twitter after making antisemitic comments about the Jewish community, saying, “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.” He also said how he “loved Hitler and the Nazis.” This all comes after he debuted “White Lives Matter” shirts at Paris Fashion Week.
In the interview, Piers also compares Ye’s tweets to racism in the black community, as Yeezy founder laughs off the conversation.
Morgan says, “That is as racist as anything you say you’ve been through… racism is racism.” The statement made Ye change his tune when Morgan said, “And you know that, I think, don’t you?”
Ye says, “Yea, obviously, that’s why I said it.” When Morgan questioned him to confirm he knew what he was saying was racist, the “Praise God” rapper said, “Yes, I fought fire with fire. I’m not here to get hosed down. That’s a different type of freedom fighter.”
In a later part of the clip, the artist had a change of heart and apologized.
“You know, I will say I’m sorry for the people that I hurt with the ‘Death con’ [comment] — the confusion that I caused. I feel like I caused hurt and confusion.”
He continues, “And I’m sorry for the families of the people that had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through.”
Piers and Ye discuss the “Death con 3” comments at the 3:40 mark.
