There have been many takeaways from Kanye West’s sit down with Revolt TV’s “Drink Champs” podcast. In one of the interview segments, Ye took on cancel culture and the #MeToo movement.
He said, “All the #MeToo – like, when I sit next to Marilyn Manson and DaBaby right after both of them got canceled … it’s like, they can’t cancel us all!
The “Heartless” rapper recently worked with both Manson and DaBaby while they were publicly facing backlash. Mason was accused of sexual assault by several women, and DaBaby had gone on a homophobic rant during a live performance.
“They’ll hit you with the accusations or somebody who you was with ten years ago,” he continued. “Also, there’s women who’ve been through really serious things, pulled in alleys against they will – that’s different than a hug, but it’s classified as the same thing.”
Ye called it “power and politics,” comparing it to George Orwell’s 1984 novel.
As for cancel culture, the rapper says he is “above it.”
