Kanye West continues to keep his fans on their toes.
Following the release of two “Vultures” albums alongside Ty Dolla $ign earlier this year, West surprised the audience at his Haikou, China show with the announcement of his upcoming “Bully” album. To add to the anticipation, Ye also debuted a new song titled “Beauty and the Beast. While performing at the Wuyuan River Stadium on Saturday, West briefly paused near the end of his set to share the news.
As far as the lyrics, “Beauty and the Beast” highlights the Chicago native in a softer way with smooth instrumentals. In the track, West says: “I still think about it every night and day to try to stay away, to keep my audience / Don’t take this disrespect, I’m sitting here trying to redirect.”
Outside of the song’s premiere, West also treated his fans to what seems to be the completed version of “530” from “Vultures 2.” The track featured a new second verse, adding more layers to the original song released earlier this year.
Despite the excitement of a new West album, his fans have learned over the years not to get their hopes up too soon. The “Vultures” albums were delayed multiple times, with the first project being released months after it was announced and the second installment being available in August when it was expected to debut in March. Ye also made edits to the albums after they were released, causing slight confusion among fans.
The producer is also known to scrap full-on projects that never saw the light of day. In fact, his “Good A** Job” album was slated to follow up his first three albums, and other rumored works like “TurboGrafx 16,” “Yandhi,” and “Love Everyone” never made it to fruition.
Nonetheless, West and Ty Dolla $ign have been traveling across the world, hosting listening parties and promoting their music. From Salt Lake City to South Korea, the two rappers are currently making waves around the world, though their Taiwan event, which was scheduled for late August, was abruptly canceled.
