It appears Kanye West’s previous statements about his Adidas Yeezy brand reaching the $1 billion mark this year may soon become a reality.
According to the Blast, sources close to the West family claim his Yeezy brand company with Adidas recently received “a valuation” which has put the brand’s “total worth close to” a reported $1.5 billion. The sources went on to add that West — who is a “majority stakeholder” in the brand — has received “several offers for investments and potential buyers of the company, but he has not decided yet how much, if any, he wants to part with.”
Coincidentally, on Monday Kim Kardashian West appeared on “The Jimmy Kimmel Show” where she alluded to the fact that her multi-talented husband is apart of the billionaire club — sort of.
When Kimmel asked if her current financial status is near the billionaire mark — similar to her “self-made” sister Kylie Jenner– she replied, “I would say my husband is, so that makes me one, right,” she said, before clarifying, “[He’s] close, close by proximity.”
Earlier this year during his nearly two-hour interview with Charlamagne Tha God, West revealed that Yeezy “will hit a billion dollars this year.” He also shared his thoughts on the potential idea of transitioning from his “billion-dollar brand” to become Creative Director for Adidas.
“You have like, you know, this conversation about a creative director role for me at Adidas. it’s like, ‘OK, I got my brand, it’s this billion-dollar brand, this unicorn company that’s growing.’ But, to be able to go and be able to direct Adidas in all those stores, it’s another conversation. I’d be open to the conversation to taking a job like that,” he said.
Based on your observation, do you think Kanye’s Yeezy brand is worth a billion dollars?
