Earlier this week, Kanye West released the potential cover photo for his forthcoming album. In an effort to promote healing and forgiveness, West revealed that he would feature Dr. Jan Adams, the plastic surgeon who performed the last surgery on his mother, Donda West.
Although flattered by the gesture, Adams penned an open letter to the rap star to politely decline the opportunity to be featured. In fact, he also shifted the blame to ‘Ye’s cousin, Stephan Scoggins, who was reportedly mentioned in the official coroner’s report on his mother’s death.
“If you want to heal, first call out the people in your own camp who knew better and persisted with the charade in order to hide their own guilt,” he wrote, as he encouraged West to cherish the important things and be honest with himself.
In the end though, Adams opened the door for further conversation with West, to which the rapper agreed, saying, “This is amazing. Thank you so much for this connection brother. I can’t wait to sit with you and start healing.”
