Katt Williams sat down with V-103’s Frank and Wanda In the Morning show, and while there he made it a point to critique some of today’s comedians including #JerrodCarmichael, Lil Rel Howery, Kevin Hart, and Hannibal Buress. But it was the “Girls Trip” star, Tiffany Haddish, who got most of his heat.
Williams went off into a rant saying Haddish doesn’t write her own material and that she’s yet proved herself as a comic. “[Haddish has] been doing comedian since she was 16. You can’t tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke. Why? Because she ain’t done a tour yet. She ain’t done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes, back to back for an hour,” he said (6:28). “[…] They all ready to down Mo’Nique and up somebody who has showed them Girls Trip. Did you think she wrote Girls Trip, goofball? Or do you think that was already a script and they handed it to her? It’s up to you whatever you want to believe.”
When host Wanda Smith came to Haddish’s defense saying people like her because she was “real” Williams asked when being “real” became marketable. To which he explained the only reason Haddish is liked is because she “wants to sleep with a white man,” referencing Haddish’s crush #BradPitt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Williams then highlighted other female comedians who he says have been overlooked. “The point is we are in the only business whereas a black woman, what you look like is not supposed to be held against you,” he said. “And time and time again, they show you you can be sidetracked by anything light-skinned. So, knock it off.”
Ironically, Williams and Haddish have a few things in common. They both were nominated and won an Emmy this month. Haddish took to Twitter in response to Williams’ words. “It’s official I made it!@KattPackAllDay talked about me and didn’t have his facts right! #Iwin #sheready I look forward to seeing you on Monday Katt, when we pick up our Emmys. I just want to shower you with REAL Love cause you need it, and I Love you.”
