Kayla Nicole, the former girlfriend of Travis Kelce, is setting the record straight when it comes to her past relationship with the NFL player.
Nicole recently sat down with Angel Reese for her ‘Unapologetically Angel‘ podcast and gave a closer look into her life, particularly focusing on her time spent with Kelce. Over the years, Nicole has been the target of criticism. One of the more persistent rumors claims that Nicole was going “50/50” with Kelce on bills and dates. As the allegations continued to circulate, many people deemed Kelce “cheap. ” However, Nicole has come forward to debunk that rumor.
“Do I look like I would go 50-50 on bills? So, yeah, that was ridiculous,” Kayla said. “But he addressed that too. I don’t even know why that became a thing. It was never an issue during our relationship, but it was definitely a rumor on the internet.”
Despite her stance on finances, Nicole encouraged women to do what they feel is best for their relationship, but stated that she “don’t do that.”
“To each his own,” she added. “If people like to split their bills with their man, I think that’s what you should do. I don’t do that.”
Kelce previously spoke on their relationship and also clarified that they supported each other financially. He stated that he would often give Nicole “a couple dollars to grab some food” and she would also give him some money during their relationship.
Elsewhere in the interview, Nicole reflected on her past and explained how the backlash from her public relationship with Kelce impacted her outlook on dating.
“I learned my lesson,” Kayla admitted. “People can’t pick at what they don’t know about. I would just protect my relationships here on out.”
Nonetheless, Kayla Nicole and Travis Kelce’s relationship spanned for five years until their 2022 split. The Kansas City Chiefs player is now dating pop singer Taylor Swift.
