Keefe D isn’t giving up. Since the $750,000 bail is beyond his reach, he’s now filing a motion to dismiss all charges connected to Tupac Shakur’s murder.
His lawyer, Carl E.G. Arnold, argues that the case has been dragged out for too long, which hurts Keefe’s chance of a fair trial.
“The unjustified delay is leading to dimming of memories, the death or disappearance of witnesses, and the loss or destruction of material physical evidence,” Arnold said.
Arnold also pointed out that authorities are still relying on outdated information from 2009. He claims the case is “irreversibly ineffective” and that Keefe D’s rights have been violated. The motion even brings up a supposed 2008 proffer agreement where Keefe D allegedly cooperated with a federal task force in exchange for immunity.
According to the agreement, Keefe D admitted to being in the white Cadillac involved in the shooting and handing the gun to the backseat.
Despite past failed attempts, Keefe D and his legal team are pushing hard for this dismissal.
His next court appearance is set for January 21, where Judge Carli Kierny will hear their arguments.
