Kehlani, Missy Elliott, and More Celebs Join Twitter Community In Sharing Random Music Facts

Celebrities are joining on a new, fun wave where Twitter users share random music facts.

It all started on December 23, when a Twitter user by the name #BevGooden posted a tweet telling people online to share their most random music fact.

Eventually, one after the other, tweets started coming in and ranged from people’s personal experiences to quotes from documentaries and clips from interviews.

It was only a matter of time before some of our favorite musicians joined in on the fun. One of the first was singer-songwriter #Kehlani who said her first writing placement was “In My Feelings” by rapper #KevinGates. “My first songwriting placement was “In My Feelings” by Kevin Gates. More and more people began dropping never-heard-before facts. One user even came with some music facts about how some of the songs by #JustinTimberlake were originally for the late #MichaelJackson. “Justin Timberlake’s debut album was mostly composed of songs written by Pharrell that were rejected from Michael Jackson’s Invincible. Yes, “Rock Your Body” was originally intended for MJ,” said the user.

Missy Elliott revealed that “Get Ya Freak On” almost didn’t make the album. The music mogul said that her album was done but told Timbaland that she needed one more joint. “Get Ya Freak On” was created and became the first single off the album.

Another user revealed that #LaurynHill hired #JohnLegend to play the piano for her debut album. “in 1998 while recording her debut album, Lauryn hill hired a junior at the University of Pennsylvania to play the piano on “everything is everything” after he impressed her with a stevie wonder cover. that student was john legend.”

#MackWilds shared a personal story about how a random trip to the recording studio ended with him being featured on #KendrickLamar’s album. “during my 90210 days, i randomly went to a studio session with my bros and wound up being one of voices in the prayer for Kendrick’s “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City,” Wilds said. One user blew our minds with revealing that #BustaRhymes was the voice of #Reptar in the #Rugrats movie. While the majority of facts users are sharing are true, some are up for question. Like the user who claimed his sister used to date #Juvenile. “Juvenile briefly dated by sister. I saw him in Atlanta once and he yelled out ‘I almost become yo brutha in law!’ Lol,” the user wrote.

Just last week, west coast rapper #TheGame shared his own music fact about how Michael Jackson tried to help him mend his beef with #50Cent by having them come together on a record. “That was weird as fuck,” Game said in a recent interview with HipHopDX. “It’s like, this ain’t how I wanna meet Michael Jackson or talk to Michael Jackson. I kinda felt like Mike was on some lame shit. Like, who sent you type shit, but at the same time it was like—you know that voice, Michael Jackson’s voice that you hear. Like, that n***a wasn’t talking like that. It was like, low-key deep. You could still tell it was Michael Jackson but it was more like…regular.”
