In a recent interview on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, they got real about the playful chaos that erupted after their interaction on stage.
Usher jokingly asked, “Did I have anything to do with what was going on inside your home?”
Keke laughed and brought up the infamous Boondocks episode where Usher was accused of breaking up happy homes, referencing the playful teasing from last year’s concert.
Usher quickly responded, “But hold up, did I send you that dress?”
He clarified that he’s just there to entertain, saying, “I cannot be responsible for the way people choose to react to my experience as an entertainer. I’m not deliberately trying to do anything that is going to break up anyone’s home.”
Usher then jokingly added, “I’m here to entertain you, my love.”
Keke then echoed Usher’s sentiment, saying the moment was all in good fun. After the drama, they decided to turn it into something positive, which led to the idea of doing a music video together.
“When life feeds you lemons, you make lemonade,” Usher said. “It can be something positive and actually just shine a little bit of fun on it.”
Keke also shared how she works to balance her public persona and her personal life, saying, “I also have a life where I don’t perform that I also have to live in balance with people that maybe only know me personally and don’t know that I am entertaining.”
What started as a playful moment on stage turned into a collaboration that no one saw coming.
It’s clear that Keke and Darius are on the same page, and Usher continues to bring his playful stage antics to his fans.
