It looks like Keke Palmer is all up to speed on who #DickCheney is now.
The 26-year old actress went viral for not knowing who the politician is. She announced to a crowd at SHE Media’s #Blogher19 Creators Summit on Wednesday that there’s been a turn of events and she’s now familiar with the former vice president who served two terms under George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009.
“It was so crazy, my mom was like, ‘You didn’t know who Dick Cheney is?’” Palmer shared during a panel at the Brooklyn Expo Center. “I said, ‘We don’t even talk about Dick Cheney!’ and then she tried to tell me what he was about, and I said, ‘I see why we don’t talk about him!’”
It all started while Palmer participated in a recent #VanityFair video, which was published last week. In the video, she’s shown taking a lie detector test and was asked if her popular character from Nickelodeon’s “True Jackson, VP” would make a better vice president than Dick Cheney.
Palmer, who previously played the vice president of a fashion line in the show, responded saying, “I hate to say it, I hope I don’t sound ridiculous, I don’t know who this man is.” She added, “I mean, he could be walking down the street, and I wouldn’t know a thing.”
The viral moment from the video that put the icing on the cake was when Palmer slid a picture of Cheney away from her and said, ”Sorry to this man.”
Thanks to Keke Palmer’s mom, she’s now well informed on who Dick Cheney is, and thanks to Keke, the “Sorry to this man” meme will live on, on social media.
