“Good Burger” fans have reason to rejoice, as a third installment of the beloved Nickelodeon franchise has been announced.
Nearly two years after the release of “Good Burger 2” on Paramount Plus, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell revealed at 90s Con on March 28th that “Good Burger 3” is officially in the works.
“So, here’s the thing—we teased it,” Mitchell told the crowd, referencing the ending of ‘Good Burger 2,’ where he joked, “We’re gonna go to space. We’re going to ‘Fast and Furious’ this thing.”
He continued, sharing that he and Thompson had already discussed the script for the third movie.
“Me and Kenan actually sat down and talked about the script for part three, alright, so it’s going to go down. We’ve got to make sure it’s right, just like how ‘Good Burger 2’ was. We’re not gonna make you guys wait over 15 years,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell also teased the possibility of a “Kenan & Kel” revival, with the stars returning as fathers. “Good Burger 2” brought back the iconic duo, Dexter Reed (Thompson) and Ed (Mitchell), as they face off against the takeover of the autonomous restaurant Mega Good Burger.
The original “Good Burger,” released in 1997, was based on a sketch from “All That,” where both Mitchell and Thompson starred as teens. Before “Good Burger 2,” they reunited for sketches, including a 2022 “Saturday Night Live” appearance.
