Kelly Clarkson will bring her daytime television run to a close later this year. NBCUniversal confirmed Monday, February 2, that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will end after its current season, with production on season seven continuing as scheduled and episodes airing through the fall.
In a statement, Clarkson said the decision was driven by family priorities following a challenging period in her personal life.
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she said. Clarkson shares two children, daughter River, 11, and son Remington, 9, with her former husband and former manager Brandon Blackstock, who died of melanoma six months ago at age 48.

Clarkson also reflected on the team behind the program and its impact over seven seasons. “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York,” she said, later adding, “Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting TKCS.”
The Kelly Clarkson Show” premiered in 2019 and quickly became a fixture of syndicated daytime television. The program has won 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for outstanding daytime talk series and four honoring Clarkson as best talk show host. As a producer, Clarkson shared in the series wins as well. The show averages about 1.2 million same-day viewers and typically ranks third among syndicated daytime talk shows.
In 2024, while accepting a Daytime Emmy, Clarkson publicly thanked NBC for supporting the show’s move from Los Angeles to New York during a difficult period in her life. “I just want to say thank you for thinking of mental health as well as, you know, a product,” she said at the time.
Clarkson will continue hosting through the remainder of the 2025 to 2026 season, with guest hosts appearing periodically. She has emphasized that the move away from daily television does not signal a full retreat from entertainment, noting she plans to continue making music and appearing on “The Voice” “from time to time.”
