Since the resurfacing of R. Kelly’s sexual assault and misconduct allegations, many have come forward to share their experience with the singer.
Kelly Price recently sat with Vlad, recounting her interactions with R. Kelly. Price began by saying she was introduced to the Chicago singer by Diddy. Kelly caught Robert’s attention after hearing her vocals while in the studio.
“He had been listening to all of Puff’s stuff as he asked him, ‘Yo, who’s that girl you got writing all of your stuff over there? Can you get her for me?’ So it was Puffy who had called me. They were working on something. He called me and said, ‘hey, R. Kelly is in town, and he’s looking for you. You wanna come through the session tonight’,” Price said.
She then mentions how even though Robert was older than her, she took on the “older sister” role, and their relationship remained professional.
“Our relationship remained professional. He never brought anything around me. People don’t believe it, but he never, ever brought anything around me. He never acted weird. He never tried to make a pass,” she continues.
Now, Price says she wasn’t “exposed” to Robert’s sexual crimes, but she did hear rumors.
When mentioning the help Robert had when committing his crimes, Price says it’s not an unusual act in the music industry. She then adds that she witnessed moms bringing their daughters backstage to meet Robert with hopes of being noticed.
“In this business, and nobody wants to talk about it, in this business, that’s not odd, that’s the culture. It’s the culture… I’ve seen mothers bring their daughters backstage. And that’s the thing nobody wants to talk about,” Price concluded.
R. Kelly is still currently incarnated for his sexual misconduct but continues to fight for his freedom.
