If you tune in to the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, don’t get your hopes up waiting on Kendrick Lamar and Sza.
Their performance of the Oscar-nominated song, ”All The Stars,” has been pulled from the upcoming ceremony. Despite the shows producer’s best efforts, they weren’t able to secure the two for the performance.
Sources close to the show told Variety that the reason given boiled down to logistics and timing. Lamar was also a no-show at the Grammys this year for similar reasons.
Producers also confirmed that their song wouldn’t be performed by another act.
However, two other Oscar-nominated songs will be performed, including “Shallow” from “A Star is Born.” Originally, producers pushed to only have “All the Stars” and “Shallow” performed during the live show but that idea was scrapped after backlash from nominees.
Now, Hall of Fame rockers Queen, the subject of best picture nominee “Bohemian Rhapsody,” will perform in a special segment on the telecast instead.
