Kerry Morgan, once a close friend of singer Cassie Ventura, took the stand this week in the ongoing federal case involving Sean “Diddy” Combs. Her testimony included a personal account of an alleged incident where Combs struck her during a visit to Cassie’s apartment.
Morgan told the court she was at Cassie’s home listening to music when Combs walked in. Cassie was in the bathroom, and Morgan said she was sitting in the living room when Combs came up behind her.
According to her statement, Combs briefly choked her and hit her on the side of the head with a wooden hanger. Morgan said the incident left her feeling dizzy and nauseous, and she later sought medical attention at an urgent care clinic, where she was diagnosed with a concussion.
Morgan shared that she chose not to press charges but did hire an attorney. She said she eventually accepted a $30,000 payment from Combs and signed a non-disclosure agreement. That same night was the last time she spoke to Combs or saw Cassie, she added.
Morgan also testified about other moments she witnessed during her friendship with Cassie. She described two separate incidents where she said she saw Combs act aggressively toward Cassie—one during a trip to Jamaica and another in Los Angeles. In both cases, Morgan said she and Cassie left the situation to seek safety.
In her testimony, Morgan described Combs as someone with frequent mood swings and said his behavior negatively affected Cassie’s self-esteem and confidence. She recalled trying to convince Cassie to leave the relationship, but Cassie said she felt unable to because of how connected her job, housing, and transportation were to Combs.
Morgan made it clear she was not in court by choice. She stated she was testifying because she was subpoenaed and otherwise had moved on from that chapter of her life.
