Kerry Washington to Be Honored with Well-Deserved Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

On Monday, December 2nd, actress Kerry Washington will be honored with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The ceremony will take place at 6258 Hollywood Boulevard, kicking off at 11:30 a.m. PT in front of The W Hollywood Hotel. Luckily, the entire celebration will be live-streamed on the Walk of Fame’s website for those who cannot attend.

Washington’s star, awarded in the television category, is a testament to her contributions to producing, acting, directing, and advocacy. Additionally, the ceremony promises to have a star-studded lineup, including Tyler Perry and Shonda Rhimes, who have collaborated with Washington in the past. Steve Nissen, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will also emcee the event.

“Her extraordinary talent and dedication have made her an icon and an inspiration to many,” said producer Ana Martinez. “Honoring her with a star celebrates her remarkable impact on the world of entertainment.”

Washington captivated audiences for decades with her versatile performances on the big screen and stage. She has made strides in many films such as “Save The Last Dance,” “Ray,” and “I Think I Love My Wife.” But, her role as Olivia Pope in ABC’s “Scandal” series cemented her as a force within the entertainment industry. Through her part, Washington became the first Black woman to lead a network TV drama in nearly 40 years. This led to Washington earning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

Beyond her on-camera performances, Washington has also been involved in off-camera work. Through her production company, Simpson Street, the megastar has produced a range of projects, including “Little Fires Everywhere,” “Confirmation,” and “The Fight.”

Nonetheless, Washington is continuing to keep us entertained with high-profile projects coming soon. As of now, Washington will be starring in Tyler Perry’s “The Six Triple Eight,” premiering on Netflix on December 20th, as well as “Knives Out 3: Wake Up Dead Man,” slated for a 2025 release.
