Keshia Knight Pulliam is creating some serious #BlackGirlMagic by investing in the futures of Black women entrepreneurs.
The actress and entrepreneur teamed up with serial entrepreneur and Girl Boss, Arian Simone, to launch ‘The Fearless Fund,’ a $5 million venture capital fund to support startups created for us, by us. The dynamic-duo created the venture capitalist initiative to address inequity in funding for Black women entrepreneurs.
Pulliam took to Instagram to share her excitement about the new venture: “Only 2% of Venture Capital Investors are African American & less than 1% are women. We decided to be a part of the solution by investing in our community!” The actress adds that her mission is “to bridge the gap in venture capital funding for women of color founders building scalable, growth aggressive companies.”
The ‘Fearless Fund’ is also set to have a mentor program and has already established an extensive network of power players ready to support. A few of the big names include Marsai Martin, the youngest-ever Hollywood product and actress, Tracy Gray, the founder and Managing Partner of venture capitalist firm ‘The 22 Fund,’ and Dr. Jacqueline Waters, the OBGYN and cast member of ‘Married to Medicine.’
The ‘Fearless Fund’ has already hosted pitch competitions at Facebook Headquarters and Spanx Headquarters. Bravo ladies, the culture is rooting for you!
