Kevin Costner Must Pay His Estranged Wife Nearly $130K A Month In Child Support

Kevin Costner must hand over nearly $130k to his estranged wife for child support.

On Tuesday, Judge Thomas Anderle dealt the devastating blow to the actor, who has been battling his ex, Christine Baumgartner, over money since she filed for divorce in May of this year. Just last week, the handbag designer suffered her own loss in court when it was decided that she must vacate their California home by the end of July. Therefore, this week’s decision is a huge victory for Baumgartner. Under the new agreement, Coster must pay her $129,755 monthly for their three children: Cayden, Hayes, and Grace.

The child support is a massive leap from what Costner was once shelling out each month. Up until Tuesday’s ruling, the A Perfect World star was paying $51,940 for their youngsters. He previously argued that the amount was “reasonable,” though the judge clearly felt otherwise. As far as the children’s healthcare and extracurricular activities, Costner and Baumgartner will split those expenses evenly. 

According to their prenuptial agreement, Costner is still responsible for paying Baumgartner a lump sum of $1 million after their divorce is finalized and a $200,000 deposit on a new home. Additionally, he must ensure that the homeowner’s insurance and property taxes are up-to-date and an extra $38,000 a month. 

According to NBC News, the couple’s marriage suffered an irreversible breakdown, with his role in Yellowstone being the main reason. His lengthy time away from the family reportedly struck a nerve with Baumgartner, who gave her husband an ultimatum: the show or her. Ultimately, Costner remained in the series.
