Kevin Durant has been hit with a $25,000 fine after cursing at a fan during Wednesday’s game.
The Brooklyn Nets star yelled “obscene language” at a heckler towards the end of the matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Towards the end of the game, which saw the Mavericks take home the victory, a fan near the baseline yelled to Durant, “You got to take this game over.” Durant shot back, “You got to shut the f**k up and sit down.”
On Twitter, Durant shared a meme of a woman handing over a dollar, comedically confirming that the fine was imposed.

The 33-year-old is no stranger to hefty penalties. Durant was fined $50,000 in April 2021 following a back-and-forth on social media with actor Michael Rapaport. In December 2021, the NBA imposed another $25,000 penalty for cursing at a fan. One month later, Durant was ordered to pay an additional $15,000 for using profane language in an interview and failing to comply with an NBA Security interview as part of the review process.
