Kevin Durant has always been a family man and is continuing his late Aunt Pearl’s legacy with a new line of KD 15s.
Durant’s Aunt Pearl passed away in 2000 after battling lung cancer. His latest KD 15 is an iteration of a tradition that started in 2012, the Nike KD 15 “Aunt Pearl” in all pink.
Official images of the sneakers have been released following a leak earlier this year. Decked in floral stitching and a pearlized Nike swoosh, the new shoes continue Aunt Pearl’s legacy.
Sneaker News reports, “The shoe is made with a mix of materials including mesh, suede, and rubber. Floral embroidery is seen all over the shoe, as well as a marbelized graphic for the underfoot. His KD branding is seen on the tongue, and the Swoosh is highlighted in a pink mosaic pattern.”
In remembrance of Aunt Pearl, Durant and Nike are collaborating with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
There has been no official announcement when the shoes will be available for retail, but with NBA season around the corner, they should hit sites soon.
