Kevin Durant Not Interested in Minnesota Timberwolves Trade, Sources Say [Video]

It’s no secret that superstar forward Kevin Durant will be playing for another team next season. At 36 years old, Durant is still a consistent 25-point-per-game scorer in the NBA. For the past 17 seasons, he has averaged 25 points or more. Since returning from his Achilles injury, some say he’s come back in a more refined fashion, yet just as productive.

Superstar shooting guard Anthony Edwards has long admired Durant, calling him the GOAT of basketball. After a disappointing second-round loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, it became clear that Minnesota needed another go-to scorer, and Durant appeared to be a perfect fit.

Over the weekend, a report surfaced listing Miami, Houston, and San Antonio as Durant’s preferred trade destinations. Later, another report indicated that Phoenix had been in trade conversations with the Heat, Rockets, and Timberwolves.

However, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Monday that Durant has no interest in being traded to Minnesota.

“At the end of the day, his (Durant’s) expiring contract of $54.7 million is going to play a part in this, and I’m told Durant has no desire to be in Minnesota with the Timberwolves. So, how does that shape how the Minnesota Timberwolves and other teams that are outside his preferred list decide how to move forward with these Durant discussions?” he explained.
