Kevin Gates responded to former gang leader and community activist, Charleston White, who made jokes after Kevin revealed he experienced child molestation.
Charleston made a video questioning Kevin’s behavior ever since the rapper admitted to being sexually abused as a child. White mentions how Kevin is “acting strange” and someone should check on him.
“I don’t know what done happened to Kevin Gates. Somebody check on Kevin Gates. Ever since that boy came out and said he been molested, he sure been acting strange. Yeah, ever since Kevin Gates came out and said somebody f**ked him, that boy been acting strange. That n*gga been doing some weird sh*t.”

Kevin must’ve caught wind of Charleston’s comments and seemingly responded back to the activist. In an Instagram post, Kevin mentions how he’s only speaking to one person who called him “strange.” Instead of being heated about the statement, Kevin calmly commends Charleston on his activism and gives advice on projecting negativity.
“I just wanted to make this post. I’m only really talking to one person. You say Kevin Gates been acting ‘strange’ – okay, cool. Maybe I’m operating outside of your understanding, brother, because I don’t have anything against you. I’m really a fan of your work. You’re a great community activist, but tearing other people down to lift yourself up, that’s not a good practice. That’s a show of internal insecurities that you have ’cause you’re projecting negativity onto other people instead of being uplifting. I support people through they ups, downs and hardships.

Kevin continues his video by mentioning how he’s free for the first time in his life. The video clip concludes with Kevin saying it’s cool if Charleston sees him as strange because he doesn’t have any insecurities and still have love for White.
