Torrei Hart, ex-wife of comedian Kevin Hart, sat down with ET’s Rocsi Diaz to talk her upcoming show, Atlanta Exes, recently and when it came to the subject of Kevin’s infidelity with current girlfriend Eniko Parish, she did not bite her tongue. “It does hurt that my kids have to be around a woman who broke up a marriage,” said Torrei. “I was with [Kevin] when he was selling sneakers for five dollars an hour. I was at every show. I was at his first show where he ever did standup … I was his muse. I was there from the beginning.”
Kevin caught wind of the interview and went on a 20 minute Twitter rant to voice his disappointment. “Here’s what’s sad, My Ex wife is the mother of my 2 beautiful kids & is well taken care of, I go above & beyond what the court ordered me to do,” Kevin tells Twitter, “Because she is the mother of my kids I would never slander her name or anybody that she’s dealing with. I’ve actually embraced the man that she is dealing with with nothing but positivity. I’m a mature adult, I’m not a teenager. That man is going to be around my kids and for that reason alone I want to have a positive relationship with him. For her to continue to talk about my Woman is honestly sad especially after 5yrs of us being together & a total of 6 1/2 years from me leaving her.”
Kevin continues, “With that being said don’t believe the hype people, I’ve been separated & divorced for a long time now people. I’ve moved on with my life. My woman has nothing to do with my past marriage problems in any way shape or form. It’s almost 7yrs total of me not being with my Ex. I guess giving a woman over $20k a month and still being there for her and being a incredible father isn’t enough! I want nothing but the best for her & her boyfriend and that will not change. I ignore negativity, being bitter & angry will get you nowhere. I love the fact that my woman loves my kids and a smart woman should love that as well. What if it were the other way around? What if a woman despised a mans kids because they weren’t hers???? People don’t think before there actions….”
Kevin concluded his rant saying, “With that being said I hope my Ex wife honestly finds happiness. THIS HAS BEEN A KEVIN HART PERSONAL ANNOUNCEMENT. Have a good day everybody.”
This is where things get complicated. When you are the day 1, the woman who was with a man when he couldn’t afford to put food on the table, the woman who stood by his side for years while he hustled, you take pride in what you accomplished TOGETHER. For a man to cheat on you and then leave you for the other woman once he sees a little bit of fame, that hurts. You never truly embrace that woman. How can you? She’s essentially enjoying the fruits of your labor without having to work hard for it at all. And every day images of he and her are forced in your face, it’s a lot to take in. Any woman can relate.
But then I definitely see Kevin’s side. It’s been nearly 7 years and it’s obvious he is happy where he’s at and isn’t coming home. At this point Torrei’s only concern should be that he takes care of their children, and if he is doing so, she’s got to let that hurt go now. ESPECIALLY if she has moved on with a new man. I’m sure her new man doesn’t want to hear her constantly concerning herself with Kevin’s affairs. Karma is real and if life sees it fit for Kevin to get what is coming to him, he will. It’s up to Torrei to take charge of her own happiness and push forward.
