Over the weekend, Keyshia Cole stirred emotions among fans as she announced her much-anticipated return to the music scene with her first album in almost seven years.  The announcement unfolded in an unforgettable moment during her performance in Los Angeles on The Love Hard Tour, held at the Peacock Theater on Saturday night, March 30.

In a touching tribute, Cole’s backup dancers revealed the news, sporting jackets with the announcement emblazoned on the back.  Pausing her performance, Cole took a moment to express her gratitude towards her supporters and to honor the memory of her late mother, Frankie Lons.

“Thank you to everyone who’s ever bought an album,” Cole said, visibly moved as she recounted her previous seven albums.  “We’re on album number eight now.  I want to give a special shout-out to my mom, Frankie.  To those who followed our journey on the reality show, your support has truly changed my life.”

The evening continued with Cole delivering a heartfelt performance of “I’ve Changed,” a track from her collaboration with Jaheim, who is also featured in the tour lineup alongside Trey Songz and K. Michelle.  This upcoming project, still unnamed, marks Cole’s first release since 2017’s “11:11 Reset” under Epic Records, which included hits like “You” and “Incapable” and reached number 37 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The anticipation for Cole’s new album is heightened by it being her first musical endeavor since her mother’s passing, promising to be a poignant chapter in the singer’s career.
