Just days after Khloe Kardashian relived the traumatizing details of Tristan Thompson’s cheating scandal, the reality star is no longer focused on repairing the relationship with Thompson.
Instead, her main priority is making sure baby True feels love and support from both her parents, since she’s still struggling to get over his cheating habits.
“Dealing with Tristan’s cheating has been very difficult for Khloe,” a source told PEOPLE. “When they have had good moments, she forgets about how hurt she got, but then when she gets reminded, she still gets upset.”
“On the outside, she acts all tough, but it still gets to her. But what it comes down to is that Khloe wants True to grow up in a family with both parents,” the source continued. “She wants True to spend as much time with her dad as possible. She believes that True needs a mom and dad in her life.”
But, according to the publication, she knows it will all take time, and she’s okay with that.
“Khloe hates when people have opinions about her relationship with Tristan. She feels that she doesn’t need to explain to people why she makes certain decisions,” the source added. “It’s obvious there are issues, though. She doesn’t define her relationship with Tristan – she only talks about him as “True’s dad.”
Since True’s birth, Khloe had been trying to work things out with her baller baby daddy, as the three spent the summer together as a family. But, according to the publication, in recent weeks, the two hit another rough patch, with Khloe still harboring a “lot of hurt and anger.”
“Khloe wants so badly for True to have a happy family,” the source said. ‘She wants to do what’s best for her daughter, and to her, that means being with Tristan.”
