Students at a New Jersey preschool and kindergarten center were given milk cartons filled with hand sanitizer.
An investigation has been launched into an incident that took place at an Early Childhood Development Center, involving milk cartons being filled with hand sanitizer instead of milk. Officials say the investigation is surrounding “a possible contamination of milk.”
According to Camden City School District, NBC News reports that the sanitizer liquid in the cartons is actually used to clean the machines that fill the cartons. The cartons were shipped off before anyone was able to notice the issue.
The exact number of students who consumed the sanitizer has not been confirmed. The district said the sanitizer wasn’t toxic and that kids were only sent to the hospital as a “precaution.”
“We pulled all milk today, and NO milk will be served until the investigation is completed.”
