The Kardashian clan is no stranger to controversy, and the latest uproar surrounds Kim Kardashian being accused of attempting to overshadow her own daughter’s moment in the spotlight.
On May 24th, Kim’s 10-year-old daughter, North West, performed in a rendition of The Lion King at the famous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
North was dressed up in a yellow furry costume, looking like the young Simba character from the popular Disney movie.
A few days later, Kim took to Instagram to share a series of photos in which she posed in a strikingly similar yellow furry ensemble.
The oversized clothes, tight bodysuits, and leather details looked almost exactly like North’s costume from the show. This made fans and critics very upset.
Social media erupted with accusations of Kim overshadowing her daughter’s moment.
Someone commented saying, “Imagine paying to let your daughter have a moment then not letting your daughter have a moment.” Another person suggested that North’s performance was merely a “promotional stunt” for Kim’s own endeavors.
Some people even accused Kim of copying the look from her ex-husband’s new wife, Bianca Censori, adding fuel to the fire.
Despite the backlash, fans supported North, praising her talent and speaking out against any attempts to diminish her accomplishments.
The situation brought up debates about nepotism (favoring family members) in the entertainment industry and the fine line between a parent supporting their child and going too far.
Did you think Kim would really try to steal her daughter’s look?
