Kim Kardashian-West took another trip to the White House in an on-going effort to raise awareness to criminal justice reform. This time, Kim has partnered with Lyft to help provide gift cards for former prisoners which can be used to help get them on the right track to rehabilitation.
The gift cards are intended for assistance with finding work, work/school transportation, etc. Kim said during the announcement, “Everyone wants the community to be safe, and the more opportunity we have and that they have and the support that we help give them, the safer everyone will be.”
Kim made the unannounced appearance at an event to promote the hiring of ex prisoners so they are able to return to the workforce. Donald Trump introduced Kardashian West, who talked about her vocal support of criminal justice reform, stating, “I wanted to make a difference and just wanted to do the right thing, but I didn’t know how.”
On her way to the event, Kim tweeted a video saying, “I am heading to the White House to speak at the second-chance hiring and re-entry event…” The posted another tweet stating she was “honored to be a part of the announcement that the administration and the private sector are stepping up to create opportunities for these men and women to succeed once home.”
