Kim Kardashian paid it forward on Mother’s Day by paying off the legal fees of over 50 mothers.
The beauty mogul teamed up with Reform Alliance and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin to cover the restitution for multiple women on probation and parole. Kardashian followed up with a video shared on her Twitter outlining how important it is to support mothers who are trying to navigate supervised release. These terms usually come with high costs that individuals must pay to remain free. In the emotional clip, Kardashian is seen informing the women via a video call that their restitution would be handled. Several of them cheered, while others shed tears of joy.
“Thousands of mothers are stuck on probation or parole just because they can’t afford to pay off their restitution, fines, and fees,” the SKIMS creator captioned the video.

The initiative helped women such as Danielle Davis, who was sentenced to twenty-three months of parole and three years of probation for a nonviolent offense. Unfortunately, once the terms were scheduled to end in 2017, they were extended for another three years because Davis still owed unpaid restitution. Kardashian says this fee system is “broken” and is looking to give women in such situations the “second chance they’ve earned.”
Reform Alliance has been working diligently for causes such as this one. Last month, the program, co-founded by Meek Mill, held a Community Day of Action in Philadelphia. The lively event included job training, housing assistance, free mental health services, food vendors, and musical performances.
