As Keeping Up With the Kardashians comes to an end after 20 seasons, Kim Kardashian is opening up about her decision to speak about her infamous sex tape on the debut episode of the now hit reality series.
During a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 40-year-old beauty mogul confessed that she likely would never have publicly spoken about the scandalous tape with former boyfriend Ray J if it wasn’t for KUWTK.
“I do think that, obviously, as producers, I’m sure they loved it and loved us wanting to talk about the elephant in the room. And I probably wouldn’t have, unless it was for the show,” Kardashian said.
The KKW Beauty boss says that filming the show over the years has helped her family address things, as opposed to “sweeping them under the rug.” She says that she was also open and wanted to share whatever she was going through with the viewers.
“I wasn’t gonna hold back,” Kim K stated.
Kardashian also cleared up any misconceptions that the series resulted primarily from the sex tape. Lisa Berger, who formerly served as executive vice president of original programming and series development at E!, also confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that the series was much bigger than the notorious porn.
“Keeping Up With The Kardashians” is ending after 20 seasons on-air. The series finale will air Thursday, June 10th on E!
