In a recent interview with Vogue, Kim Kardashian opens up about Kanye’s current mental health and how the attention of her husband’s latest fashion accessory became an issue in their marriage.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last summer, it was revealed that Kanye had been battling with bipolar disorder. Although it has been an “emotional process,” Kardashian ensured that “everything is calm” between the two. In fact, Kardashian also shared that both her and Kanye have learned how to handle his episodes and can sense when they are coming. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As Kardashian continued, she explained why the two are against keeping ’Ye on medication.
“For him, being on medication is not really an option, because it just changes who he is,” said Kardashian.
However, amid ’Ye’s struggle with mental health, he was also embroiled in controversy over his admiration and support of the celebrity-in-chief, Donald Trump.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Back in October, West met with Trump at the White House to discuss the rehabilitation of former convicts, where he expressed how his MAGA hat made him “feel like Superman.” After that, the rapper shared a number of statements in support of Trump on Twitter, all of which, caused a rift between him and his wife.
“I can be sitting there crying, oh my God take off the red hat,” said Kardashian, as she revealed she rarely let it affect her. “Because he really is the sweetest person, with the biggest heart. I stopped caring though. Because I used to care so much. I was making it such an issue in our relationship and in my life. It gave me so much anxiety.”
Although Kanye claimed that he planned to continue performing with his MAGA hat, in the interview, Kardashian maintained that the hat doesn’t symbolize his affiliation to a political party. She said that it reflects the idea that he is his own person.
“He doesn’t represent either side, but he doesn’t want to be told what he should be,” said Kardashian. “It can be confusing. I get it. The one thing that I respect so much is that he is who he is, no matter what anyone tries to tell him to do.”
