Kim Porter, former model and mother to Diddy’s children, has passed away due to complications from pneumonia.
Born in Columbus, Porter kicked off her career in the late ’80’s after moving from her beloved hometown to the big city of Atlanta to pursue modeling. From her break out on magazine covers like Elle and Marie Claire to being a muse for fashion brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Revlon, Porter made a name for herself with her distinctive features and natural beauty.
Soon after her move to Atlanta, Porter began dating Al B. Sure, and in 1991, their relationship produced a child, Quincy Brown. Three years later, Porter got together with Diddy, who then adopted her son before they had their own children. Years later, the two separated, but maintained a great relationship for the kids.
Sources say Porter had been suffering from pneumonia for weeks. She was 47.
Our condolences to the Porter and Combs families.
