Kim Zolciak is responding to questions about her daughter Ariana Biermann’s accusations that she used her money without proper communication.
On a recent episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star addressed the claims and explained how the situation unfolded.
According to Zolciak, the family’s finances took a serious hit, leaving her responsible for covering expenses.
“The rug was pulled out from the Zolciaks,” she said. “Ariana’s money was spent on bills, to be honest. I was left holding the bag for the family. I was left with nothing, so I had to figure it out fast.”
She told host Andy Cohen that some of the money has already been returned.
“The money I borrowed from Ariana, I paid her back … for the bills and stuff,” she said, adding that she still owes her daughter for earnings from brand deals and other projects.
Ariana, who attended the taping with her boyfriend Hudson McLeroy, has said she was unaware her money had been used until two years ago. In the premiere of “Next Gen NYC,” she revealed, “I can’t say exactly what they used it on, because I just found out that it was gone two years ago. I have no idea where it actually went.”
The 23-year-old clarified during a June appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” that her father, Kroy Biermann, was also involved.
“Everybody wants this to be just my mother,” she said. “This was a joint partnership in taking the money.”
Zolciak reassured Cohen that Ariana will eventually be reimbursed, though she doesn’t keep formal financial records.
“I’m not a spreadsheet girl. Don’t know how to do it, unfortunately,” she said.
When asked if she also relied on her eldest daughter, Brielle Biermann, Zolciak confirmed that Brielle had stepped in.
“Brielle paid an electric bill here and there,” she explained. “I have to be so careful, guys.”
The conversation also touched on her personal life. Zolciak shared that her divorce from Kroy is “still in process” but noted she has started dating someone new.
“I sat in the house and just worked and tried to take care of everything for 20 months, and then I finally met somebody,” she said.
Zolciak’s comments made it clear that despite the financial strain and tension within her family, she is determined to settle the money matters and focus on moving forward.
