Earlier this week, actor Djimon Hounsou claimed that his ex Kimora Lee Simmons is keeping their 10-year-old son, Kenzo Lee, away from him after not being able to see or speak to him on Father’s Day.
Now, sources close to Kimora have denied Hounsou’s allegations, claiming that she is not the reason he’s estranged from their son. The sources say Hounsou doesn’t make an effort to see his son and that Kimora has an open-door policy when it comes to visitation with the fathers of her children.Â
Apparently, Kimora encourages the whole family to get together as often as possible, but Hounsou rarely takes her up on her offer. However, in the wake of Djimon’s allegation, according to The Blast, the two have begun privately working out a custody agreement through their attorneys. The two sides are seeking a visitation agreement that will detail when and where each parent can spend time with Kenzo.
The only issue standing in the way is that Djimon travels outside of the U.S. to his hometown of Benin, West Africa. With Kenzo primarily being with his mother in the states, Djimon’s schedule may conflict with his son’s routine. Both parents reportedly want to find common ground for Kenzo to enjoy time with his mother and father, drama free.Â
