Imagine picking up your kindergarten from school and they walk out drunk. That’s exactly what happened at a Michigan elementary school.
On Friday, multiple kindergartners were left feeling woozy after accidentally drinking margaritas. According to Fox 2 Detroit, a young girl brought ready-to-drink Jose Cuervo margaritas to class and shared with her classmates.
One of the student’s mother was outraged when she learned her child was drinking margaritas out of a Dixie cup during snack time. She says her child complained about feeling “woozy, a little dizzy.”
“The girl poured it in her cup and she drank it. And the girl ended up telling her what it is, and she went and told the teacher there is liquor in this cup. And the teacher gave her a funny face,” the child’s mother said.
Apparently the little girl who brought the alcohol, snuck it in school through her backpack and allegedly knew it was liquor.
Parents were immediately notified of the incident. The school, Grand River Academy, says disciplinary actions will be taken if necessary.
“While we try to keep an eye on everything our students bring to school. That’s simply not possible,” the school said in a statement. “It’s unfortunate that these types of adult beverages can be easily mistaken for child-friendly drinks.”
Most of the parents faulted the school, however others blamed the young girl’s parents for the alcohol consumption.
