The body of 51 year old Frank Ancona, the imperial wizard of the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, was found Saturday near the Big River in Missouri. Authorities believe that Ancona’s death was due to a “tragic and senseless act of violence,” however an autopsy is being conducted and the official cause of death has not yet been released.
Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobsen says that on Friday, Ancona was reported missing by his employer. According to Malissa Ancona, Ancona’s wife, he was called to work to make an out-of-state delivery. He packed a bag Wednesday night, taking his guns, and had not been heard from since. Ancona’s employer, on the other hand, says they did not send him anywhere and that he did not come to work. Reportedly his vehicle had been discovered by a U.S. Forest Service employee on Forest Service property. After securing the area, and with the assistance of Missouri Highway Patrol, Ancona’s body was found on the bank of Big River.
When officers searched Ancona’s home, they say they found a safe bashed in with a crowbar and its contents missing. Despite the evidence, Leadwood Police Chief William Dickey does not suspect a burglary.
Cops have not named any suspects, but did question Ancona’s wife over a Facebook post she made in search of a roommate for her husband. She said her husband was filing for divorce upon his return and would probably need help paying the rent.
