Warriors fans can breathe a sigh of relief. One of the team’s top talents, shooting guard Klay Thompson, will be back just in time for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, which begins Thursday night. Thompson was diagnosed with a concussion after getting kneed in the head by Rockets forward Trevor Ariza during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. Though he was cleared by medical staff to return to the game, he stayed on the bench and watched as the rest of his teammates went on to beat the Houston Rockets and clinch a berth in the NBA Finals.
Following the game, Thompson started to experience more concussion symptoms, which led people to wonder if he would be able to play in the first couple of games of the NBA Finals. Thompson spent a couple of days resting before finally returning to practice on Monday. And as of Tuesday, he completed the NBA’s concussion protocol and was cleared to return. “I feel great honestly,” Thompson said. “These last few days I feel like I’ve gotten my wind back, and tomorrow’s the final tuneup. Just trying to stop the nerves and anxiousness.”
Now that both teams are healthy, it’s about to be a great matchup for the NBA finals. Who do you think will take Game 1?
