The New York Knicks have at least two injuries per playoff game and they continue to pull off these wins in the Garden. The energy of the NBA playoffs has been amazing; the league is going through a youth immersion of talent, and the new school is cementing its place. That includes the Villanova three, which have become the Knicks’ favorite three. Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and star guard Jalen Brunson have been nothing less than spectacular during these playoffs. Last night, Brunson suffered a foot injury in the first half, and OG Aununoby’s hamstring strain took him out of the game after a playoff-high 28 points.
A double-digit deficit at halftime and injuries didn’t slow these Knicks down. The energy per possession in the Garden is contagious. The MVP chants for Brunson propel the guard to score 24 of his 29 in the second half. He fell short by 11 points, becoming the first player to score 40 points in five games in a row. MJ is the only player to achieve this feat. DiVincenzo scored 28 points, and Hart scored 19 points, dropping seven dimes while also grabbing 15 rebounds.

Reggie Miller has been on commentary for the Knicks-Pacers series, and TNT has reminded Knicks fans of every chance they get that Reggie Miller whooped the Knicks in the 90s. Reggie mentioned that people ask him if he ever gets nervous about calling a game at MSG. Miller scoffed at the idea.
“No, I’ve owned this city. I have owned this city, so why would I be worried about walking out there?”
The Pacers and Knicks playing two competitive matchups in front of Miller 30 years later is something Turner Sports could have not even written any better. Wednesday night, Miller also remembered he was enemy water when an NFSW chant of F-bombs in front of his name as the Knicks closed out the Pacers. Josh Hart was actually kind enough to come to tell Reggie what they were saying since he had on headphones.
This is a hilarious exchange for an entertaining series that will hopefully continue to deliver as Miller calls games.
Check out his response on X this morning.
