The New York Knicks knew they couldn’t afford to fold. Down two games and staring at a 20-point deficit in the first half, the Knicks flipped the switch in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals and pulled off one of the wildest comebacks we’ve seen this postseason.
Karl-Anthony Towns turned into a one-man wrecking crew in the fourth quarter, dropping 20 of his 24 points when the Knicks needed it most. With each bucket, block, and battle cry, Towns lit up Gainbridge Fieldhouse and silenced the Pacers crowd.
The Knicks clawed back possession by possession, fueled by sharp defense and clutch shooting. Timely threes, aggressive drives, and signature roars from Towns gave New York all the momentum as the clock ticked down. The Pacers, meanwhile, couldn’t buy a bucket late. They were held to just 20 points in the fourth and struggled from deep, finishing the second half shooting under 37 percent.
Jalen Brunson, battling foul trouble, still found a way to deliver in crunch time, hitting a tough jumper with just over a minute left that helped seal the deal.
Tyrese Haliburton tried to keep Indiana afloat, finishing with 20 points and six assists, but it wasn’t enough. And history wasn’t on their side either—this marked the fourth time the Pacers have lost when playing on the same day as the Indianapolis 500.
Now the series stands at 2-1, with Game 4 set for Tuesday night at 7 PM on TNT. The Knicks have life again, and if Towns keeps cooking like this, Indiana better bring more than just home-court energy.
