Kobe Bryant’s sister Shaya Bryant-Tabb penned an emotional letter Saturday ahead of his Hall of Fame induction.
“I would watch you work so hard to make those dreams of yours come true. It wasn’t of but when you would become an NBA superstar,” she wrote. “There was just no question that this was your path and you always knew who profound your footprint would be on this game you loved so deeply.”
Shaya continued, “You are being honored and inducted into the Hall of Fame and for you this was the plan all along. A dream imagined and a dream reached. The world is honoring you and your immense contribution to the game you gave so much to and I sit with so much joy in my heart as I know you are looking down with a basketball in your hand, maybe dribbling or practicing your follow through but smiling from the deepest part of your heart.”
She ended the letter by expressing the pride she had for her superstar brother.
“I am so proud of who you are, how you lived, how you loved, and proud to call you my brother. I love and miss you Bean,” she concluded her letter.
Bryant, who tragically died in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna and seven other people last January, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame by Michael Jordan Saturday. Bryant is being honored as part of the 2020 class, who had their ceremony postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
